Technical Sales Executive (Midwest)
The Technical Sales Executive will be responsible for sourcing new customers and business contacts and have the ability to demonstrate the technical features of the product. Proficient in developing sales plans and customer proposals for their assigned territory. Ability to increase sales potential with existing customers through strong customer service skills.
Responsibilities:
- Grow sales through short and long-term plans for Midwest sales territory. Territory includes Illinois, Indiana, Ohio, Michigan and Wisconsin
- Develop key relationships with clients and other industry professionals
- Ability to prepare and present proposals to potential customers
- Maintain and develop a sales pipeline for existing and new customers
- Use Customer Relationship Management (CRM) tools to track opportunities through the sales pipeline development
- Provide excellent customer service to assigned territory
- Communicate regularly with all current, potential and new customers, providing solutions that Extron products can provide. Develop relationships that can provide insights into the trends of the markets and what competitors may be offering from a sales perspective
- Coordinate with other members of the sales team across the territories to generate sales and provide customer service. Collaborate with other members of the sales team and team leaders to prospect potential new industries that can benefit from Extron’s portfolio of products.
- Knowledge of local and national trends in the market for the agricultural business line
- Actively participate in local industry associations and attend conferences and tradeshows
- Performs other related duties as required
Requirements:
- Associates degree in business administration or related field
- previous experience in a Sales position
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Ability to work under pressure and tight schedules
- Demonstrated skills in negotiating and closing critical sales contracts
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and other software systems.
- Ability to develop extensive technical knowledge of Extron’s portfolio of products

Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
- Regularly required to walk, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl while onsite with customers
- Work is performed indoors and out-of-doors year-round, occasionally in environments that are dusty, noisy, or which could have work hazards
- Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds at times
- Travel up to 60% of the time with some overnight travel
